As a part of the upcoming OMSI Animation Festival, we are extremely excited to be screening the 2018 SIGGRAPH Computer Animation Festival Traveling Show!\u00a0 This program catches the year’s best computer graphic animation and achievements, sourced worldwide and highly concentrated into the maximum dosage you’re allowed to intake in one evening.\u00a0 Here’s a preview trailer<\/a> of the show, with a glimpse of what’s inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Larry Bafia at the 2018 SIGGRAPH Convention<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

SIGGRAPH representative Larry Bafia, a former Portlander currently residing in Vancouver BC, will join us to present this program. In addition to the films included in this year\u2019s traveling showcase, viewers will also see snippets of the latest Technical Papers research and the festival\u2019s VR Theater selections, as well as a \u201cGenerations\u201d highlight reel of past Electronic Theater selections. The SIGGRAPH conference<\/a> was held in Vancouver, B.C. for 2018 and welcomed more than 16,500 global attendees. For 2019, the conference<\/a> returns to Los Angeles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But wait! That’s not all…\u00a0 tastefully paired will be some local high octane computer graphics, via special guest Brian Smith:\u00a0 Creative Director at <\/strong>Minimal Massive<\/strong><\/a> and SIGGRAPH Vice Chair.\u00a0 He’ll be up first presenting the making of their most recent cinematic – a trailer for The Phoenix Point Next Life, <\/em>which dropped just a few days ago and is very much hot off the press!\u00a0 A Cinema4D masterpiece from our own local masters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is all on the docket for Friday \/ June 21 \/ 6:30pm<\/strong> at OMSI’s Empirical Theater<\/strong>.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
